Janet Quint, Senior Associate K - 12 Education Policy Area

Quint is one of MDRC’s leading implementation researchers, specializing in education reform initiatives. Currently the project manager for the Scaling Up First Things First project, she was previously the senior implementation analyst for MDRC’s Project Transition and the lead author of the report. She conducted an evaluability assessment of the Toyota Families in Schools literacy initiative and was a senior reviewer on the Breakthrough for Learning study. With MDRC’s chief social scientist, Howard Bloom, she has helped organize a seminar series on research methods for the staff of the U.S. Department of Education. Quint has also coordinated the implementation study for the Project on Devolution and Urban Change and was co-principal investigator of the New Chance Demonstration, which offered comprehensive services to young mothers on welfare. She was lead author on the Career Beginnings study, an initiative to increase college attendance among disadvantaged students. Quint holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Chicago and a doctorate in sociology from the City University of New York.
